Vogue Knitting Back Laced Mohair DressVogue Knitting Back Laced Mohair DressEach June, when we attend the TNNA show in Columbus, Ohio, we're delighted by the incredible variety of fibers and designs that continue to be developed by very creative fiber artists and the manufacturers who provide their tools. We're introduced to exquisite yarns that range from huge, chunky ropes of roving to the lightest strands of mohair that float in the air. We're inspired by pallettes of colors that burst into excitement with blazing brilliance or we're lulled into dreamy romance by delicate, softer shades. With so many different fibers, colors, and fashion designers, it's little wonder the annual fashion show is a breathtaking onslaught of style.

We've selected a few of the designs that we thought were particularly brilliant at this year's runway show, and that would appeal to readers of Knitch Magazine. We hope you enjoy our selections!

Laura Zukaite won the Vogue Knitting Magazine Magic of Mohair design contest with her ethereal creation using Artyarns mohair yarn by Irish Schreier. Some knitters say they'll be using this pattern for their wedding dress, and we're convinced it's destined to become a family heirloom that women for many generations will treasure. This pattern is available in the Magical Mohair Lace Dress kit that includes all the supplies you need to make this beautiful dress your own.

Prism Gemstones Jacket by Laura Bryant backPrism Gemstones backPrism Gemstones frontPrism Gemstones frontLaura Bryant of Prism never fails to delight with her imaginative fibers and unique designs. Her Gemstone Jacket is a great example of how she loves to combine brilliant colors and interesting — if not unexpected — textures. This cardigan is created one diamond at a time using Prism Wild Stuff and Prism Cool Stuff, then finished off with Prism Symphony yarn. It glistened in the floodlights with a color combination reminscent of stained-glass windows. Shown here in a cardigan, it's also available in a pullover version with 3/4 sleeves. You can find this pattern at Patternfish and the yarn at Yarnmarket.

Zealana Fur & CrystalZealana Fur & Crystal

Coordinates are going to be big this season, and we loved how well these pieces worked together to create a sporty yet sophisticated look. Ann Young designed the Fur & Crystal Pullover, a soft and furry piece for Yarn Sisters. Using Zealana Fur for the scarf and Zealana Willow Chunky for the pullover, she combined wide ribs with sparkling beads in a fitted top that's quick to knit and available in sizes small to extra large.

Karabella Yarns Bluebell Yoke Pullover by Berta KarapetyanKarabella Yarns Bluebell Yoke Pullover

Berta Karapetyan is known for her stylish, contemporary designs. This season, one of her featured garments is her Bluebell Yoke Pullover. This figure hugging sweater is created with Aurora 8 in wide rib bands are used on the lower sleeves and at the waist to create a slim fit that hugs your curves. The ribbed yoke is cinched with a buckle, creating a peek-a-boo keyhole that adds even more sex appeal.

The Angelwing Pullover & Cowl was designed by Beth Lutz for the Alpaca Yarn company. It's a lightweight sweater in Brushed Suri Alpaca that's knit on large needles in the round from the bottom up. The removable cowl and the bottom of the pullover are knit in alternatives strips of Paca Paints in a pretty modified feather and fan pattern.

The audience loved this very colorful and creative jacket presented by Creative Knitting. The coat features a button closing, roll up sleeves, front pockets and a pretty design using both spring and autumn colors. You'll get a lot of wear out of this very fashionable garment. Kollage Portrait Cardigan Kollage Portrait Cardigan

Susan Moraca of Kollage never fails to inspire us with her clever yarns and unique patterns. This year, it seems everyone is raving about Riveting, the Kollage yarn that's made mostly from recycled blue jeans. It's now available in both worsted and DK weight. This feminine cardigan features a gentle ruffle that frames the face while it exposes just enough of your neckline to be sexy but not revealing. The body is worked in a seed stitch stripe with seed stitch edges. If you're going to make one cardigan this season, this might be the one to choose. It's eco-friendly, flatteringly feminine and will feel oh, so soft against your skin.

Knit 'n Style Twisted Boyfriend CardiganKnit 'n Style Twisted Boyfriend CardiganKnit 'n Style magazine offered the audience a wavy cabled pattern on a cardigan sweater they called a Twisted Boyfriend sweater. The relaxed v-neck cardi was designed by Jodi Snyder who used Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light yarn which is available in versatile neutrals and prettier shades that pop with color -- like Star Sapphire, Viola and Poppy. You'll want to add this cosy, comfortable sweater to your wardrobe, and it would make a cherished gift this holiday season.

Aslan Trends and Namaste Farms Andean Jacket by Nicky EpsteinAslan Trends and Namaste Farms Andean Jacket by Nicky EpsteinNicky Epstein created a roomy sweater coat for Aslan Trends and Namaste Farms yarns. The Andean Jacket is crafted of Royal Alpaca and Del Sur yarns by Aslan Trends so it's cozy warm for the coldest autumn days. Aslan Trends makes fine quality yarns, most of which are sourced from South America. Nicky used Namaste Farms Charmed yarn for the trim, hand-crafted by Natalie Redding using Pygora fibers and pewter skull beads. Nicky used her own buttons to finish off the coat. The pattern is free from Yarnmarket with the purchase of three skeins of the Aslan Trends yarn.

Final runway walkFinal runway walkThe end of the TNNA Fashion Show featured the amazingly talented Steven B of Steven B's Yarn Garage in Minnesota. The models strutted their stuff as a very large and enthusiastic audience of show owners expressed their approval of the patterns you'll want to knit this autumn and winter.
