Winter Outlook Photo This winter we look forward to the return of elegance. Gone are the all-too-revealing clothes that suited only the most perfectly proportioned younger bodies. Today we welcome a sophisticated silhouette reminiscent of Coco Chanel and the era of designers who knew how to make a woman look like a lady. The new, chic styles are most beautifully presented by Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, former fashion model and current wife of Nicolas Sarkozy, President of France. Showing a preference for well tailored, beautifully detailed, classic clothing and accessories she has quickly claimed her place among the politically (if not regally) divine – Jackie O, Lady Diana, and Raisa Gorbachev.
On a much-watched trip to England, the former supermodel chose several garments from French classic designer Dior. Her signature colors -- midnight blue, steel gray, and black -- are the preferred colors of the upcoming season with the subdued shades jolted to life by rich jewel tones. Accents of vibrant reds, purples and blues provide a modern interpretation to the dark, conservative shades. Sarkozy chose purple, the most prestigious of colors since the days of the Phoenicians, to bring drama and color to her classically refined presentation.
The fashion spotlight will continue to shine on Sarkozy as she exemplifies beauty, femininity and sophistication that are elegantly stylish for any age, and any shape, for all seasons.
